Truth Decay

The day he moved in he started
packing all of her away.
She barely even noticed her
personal truth decay.
Her mirror reflected shadowed eyes,
echoed her quiet dismay.
Without a breath in her defense she
was a captured castaway.
She barely even noticed her
personal truth decay.
Naively she didn't stand as he kept
her friends at bay.
Without a breath in her defense she
was a captured castaway.
The home that she had filled with
dreams disappeared when she
disobeyed.
Naively she didn't stand as he kept
her friends at bay.
Her mirror reflected shadowed eyes,
echoed her quiet dismay.
The home that she had filled with
dreams disappeared when she
disobeyed.
The day he moved in he started
packing all of her away.

Still you

Three knocks on the door,
Sweat on my skin,
Don’t want to stop it,
I let you in.

Your voice my reward,
Your tongue on my lips,
Subtle shift toward love,
For me, the scale tips.

Seven knocks to the floor,
Destiny spoke ,
I dust myself off,
Three words stuck in my throat.

You mock me some more,
With your flippant remarks,
Innocent barbs,
Shot straight through my heart.

Vous avez mon amour,
My passion in-situ,
Forever unchanging,
In my heart there’s still you.

I Have..I Give.

This is not a tiny man made thing
Like religion or money.
This is a Mother Nature thing,
Made with the same stuff
As the starlight,
The pull of a wave,
And the smell of Sunshine.
It cannot be placed in a box
And its lid shut tight.
This is a sea!
A galaxy!
A universe!
And yet
You hold it in your hand
As if it were a tiny thing.
Look again….

I wrote this poem in the spirit of all beautiful sentiments that are given in love from one human to another…..forgiveness, gratitude, love, respect…..I feel that these things are given from the heart and it would be following the universal law of reciprocity if all of these gifts were met with gratitude from those to which they are given.  It’s a commercial world, but sometimes the spirit of love and gratitude are the only meaningful things we have left to give each other.
